Top Tips For Locker Organization

August 23, 2018

The end of summer can only mean one thing in the world of education — the start of another school year. A new year, new classes, new friends, and a new locker for your child to keep all of their school supplies in. But what can you do now to help your child keep their locker neat and organized all year long?

1. Magnetic Containers

One great idea that can easily be made at home with a cereal box is a magnetic container to place on the side of your child’s locker so they can easily access all those loose paper handouts they receive every day. Simply take a cereal box, cut the top off, affix magnetic strips to the back, wrap the whole thing in wrapping paper, leaving the top open, and you’re ready to go.

2. Color Coding

Using a different colored binder for each subject with a matching folder can help your child to stay organized throughout the school year. This simple method can allow students to quickly grab what they need and get to their next class on time, every time.

3. Sticky Notes

Give your student a place to write quick notes and reminders. Whether it’s a pad of paper that can be stuck to the locker wall, or a dry erase board that they can write on time and time again, this method will allow your child to see important reminders like daily schedules, after school plans, or homework assignments due the following day, all at a moments’ notice.
