What to Consider Before Redoing Your Auditorium Seating

June 11, 2018

With school out for summer, now is the perfect time to start doing a little school upkeep; and one of the best places to start is your auditorium. With fall concerts, presentations and orientations — you’ll want to be sure everything is fresh and ready to go. If you noticed your auditorium seating is tearing, breaking down or just not functional anymore, you’d want to start with some repairs — and here’s how:

Inspect All Seats

Not all seats will need repairing, so take a walk around and see what you can change and what you can leave. Keep a list of specific seat numbers to make it easier to identify when the time comes to do the work.

Think About Your Budget

If your school budget doesn’t allow a full remodel, prioritize the seats that need to be replaced. If there are wholes, broken chairs or safety hazards — these are the things you’ll want to handle first. If you can fit it, consider a complete redesign of your seating and setup if possible.

Give Yourself Ample Time

You’ll want to start as early as possible, to ensure you get the job done in time for the school year to start. Contact your designer as soon as possible so you can thoroughly discuss your budget and options. A full remodel can lead to a more comfortable setup that enables you to maximize your space.
