Incorporating Valentine’s Day Into Your Classroom

Valentine’s Day is almost a week away, and now more than ever is the perfect time to prepare your Holiday crafts. There are many hands-on and creative ways to get your students involved in Valentine’s day spirit. With a little help from Babble and Scholastic, we have a few wonderful ideas to incorporate into your classroom:

Bulletin Board of Hearts 

If you change up your bulletin boards for each holiday or season, consider decorating yours this month with red and pink construction paper. Then, provide each student with one heart cut out and have them either write their name in the middle or one fact pertaining to one of the topics you are currently teaching.

Math Mates

Depending on the mathematical skills you are teaching, provide half of your students with an equation and the other half with an answer. Then, have them walk around the room to try and find their perfect match!

Handprint Heart

Is art one of your students’ strengths? If so, provide students with one construction paper heart and have them either trace their hand in the middle or use paint to make the perfect handprint!
