Year End Checklist For Teachers

Calling all teachers! With the school year coming to an end, we bet you’re scrambling to tie up loose ends with your students and faculty before jetting off on your summer vacations. But with so much to take care of, where do you even start? That’s what we’re here for! Follow this year end checklist to make sure that nothing falls through the cracks and you can rest easy while lounging poolside this summer!

• Complete final assessments and finish up report cards.
• Collect all materials loaned out to your students.
• Have students clean out desks and lockers.
• Take down student art and send it home with them.
• Finish and print off summer reading lists.
• Take inventory of supplies to ensure you have everything and make a list of what you’ll need for next year.
• Update permanent records.
• Clean out cupboards, filing cabinets, your desk and storage areas and only keep materials you intend to use again.
• Unplug electronics and shut down computers.
• Label classroom furniture with your name and room number, in the event that it is moved around this summer.
• Cover computers & bookshelves to keep dust from collecting over the summer.
• Take home personal items such as coffee cups, photos, etc.
• Submit maintenance requests.
• Fill out any required paperwork and turn in keys.
• Make several boxes to take home for you which will include everything you need for the start of the school year, or summer projects you want to work on.
• Relax and enjoy your summer! You earned it after all of your hard work this school year!
