With the school year coming to a close, parents might want to start thinking of fun ways to keep their kids busy and engaged this summer. Whether it be spending days at the beach, or signing your child up for a reading club, setting a summer schedule can take some creative planning. Sharing these activities with parents will ensure your students are kept happy and entertained during their break!
Movie Monday: Designating one day a week for movie watching is helpful to keep kids on a schedule. It’s important to involve them in the movie selection process. They’ll feel excited and proud of themselves that they were able to make a decision, which is a great way to build self-esteem.
Visit the Library: The library offers so many wonderful programs in the summer. Encourage parents to take advantage of them by checking their local library’s schedule for craft sessions, science programs and story time!
Have a Treasure Hunt: We can’t stress enough the importance of keeping kids active and healthy– and making a fun game out of it is a great incentive. Kids love adventure! Setting up a treasure hunt is the best way to bring some excitement to their summer vacation, while getting them moving!
Get Crafty: Summertime is the best time for getting messy outdoors. Parents can set up a craft station with paint, glue, glitter and poster board and let the young learners’ imaginations run wild.
