Go Paperless

Roughly 90% of office waste is due to reprints of documents because of revisions or updates. To avoid the excess waste, start moving your work over to digital! By swapping out your filing cabinets for desktop folders, you are cutting down the emissions of greenhouse gases and making your office clutter-free and eco-friendly! You can also reach out to vendors and ask that your bills and invoices be emailed to you and try and set up auto payments whenever possible, any little bit helps!

Add Desk Plants

Adding some greenery to your office can increase work productivity and your overall health. Plants release oxygen into the air which counteracts any chemicals that might be present and improves overall air quality. So if you are looking to add a personal and natural touch to the office, while cleaning the air — add in some plant life!

Unplug at Night

Modern technology can drain a ton of energy, especially in an office space. Each night computers, lights, and office printers that are left on consuming unnecessary energy and waste your money. To stop the waste and cut down on your electrical bill, enforce a shutdown policy that requires all employees to shut down their computers and lights each night.  

Make it a Competition

There are so many ways to get your office to go green, so why not try and switch it up? Create different, yet practical, eco-friendly challenges for your office, such as no plastic water bottles for the week or a print-free week. Don’t forget to offer prices for those employees who successfully complete it!
