How to Chose The Right Work-space

June 30, 2017

When it comes time to furnish your office, finding the right desk can be vital to your workflow and productivity. Not all jobs are built the same, and the right office setup can make the work day a whole lot easier. So whether you are purchasing desks for your entire company or just a single one to work at home with, here’s how to choose the perfect one:

Identify How You’ll Use Your Desk:

The easiest way to determine the type of desk that will best suit your needs is to first pinpoint the type of work you’ll be doing at it. Is your job mostly computer based, or is it all paperwork? Do you feel like it’s a mixture of both?

If It’s Mostly Computer Based:

Be sure that the desk is manufactured for computer use. Will you need multiple monitors? Don’t forget to account for space they will take up. Some will offer built-in wire holes to keep wiring neat and out of site.

If Your Job is Paperwork-generated:

If you are paper based, you will need the largest surface possible. If you have spreadsheets and files, a file cabinet or attached drawers might be best. Look for a desk that offers you enough room to spread out evenly on.

Need a Desk for Both?

If you often have to look through paper work, spreadsheets, and blueprints but spend half of your day on the computer, consider an L-shaped desk. The L-shape will allow you even work space to do a bit of both.  Place your computer on the side part of the L so you can utilize the front facing side for meetings.
