The Most High Tech Stadium in Sports

October 22, 2012

There has been a lot of hype around the new Barclay’s Center which recently opened in Brooklyn, New York. It is being called the most high tech stadium in sports. This stadium has it all, from Wi-Fi connectivity and LED lighting fixtures to the 360 degree marquee that encircles the outer pavilion. We were honored to be a part of this massive project.

Nickerson installed state of the art arena curtains into the 675,000-square foot arena which can seat up to 19,000 people.  These curtains allow the venue to easily block off or open up seating areas depending on the event’s seating needs.  We also added all of the wall padding in the Brooklyn Nets practice gym.  Our professionals had to work with many other trades also trying to make deliveries and complete work in the center.  An interesting aspect of the wall padding job was that the 10’ high by 4’ wide pads were installed on motorized panels that, when closed covered the glass entrance to the practice gym.

At Nickerson we pride ourselves on being able to work extremely well with our clients. We are available from design layout to installation and handle everything in between.  Next time you are at a Nets game or Jay-Z concert think about how Nickerson played a role in the completion of this amazing center.
